Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Ballads of Bakersville, a new series featuring a cast of lovable (some not so lovable), relatable characters living in a coastal town in Maine.

How did The Ballads of Bakersville come about? What inspired me to start an entirely new series? Well, I'm glad you asked!
For those who don't know, I'm at the finish line of earning my MFA in Creative Writing. Come October, that beautiful little diploma will be resting in my warm little hands.
*insert excited squee*
When I first started the program, I learned that as my thesis, I'd have to write an 80K word novel. Having published before, I foolishly thought, "No biggie." Well, it turned out to be a "big biggie." And I'm so glad it did.

Writing Baking Me Crazy, the first of the three books series, has been a JOURNEY. One where I learned so much, was humbled, supported, critiqued constructively, critiqued harshly, encouraged, and knocked on my butt a few times. It was a bumpy road but I am so grateful that I got to have this experience because not only did I learn a lot, but I rediscovered myself as a writer. Being faced with both your weaknesses and your strengths is not for the faint of heart, but I faced them and this, my dear readers, is the result.
I can hear you asking, "Becca? What's this about?" Well, here is the blurb to give you an idea and to tantalize your reading taste buds!

Sugar and spice and everything’s nice. Or, maybe not.
When Lila Baker inherits her beloved grandmother's pastry shop, she quickly realizes it has more problems than Swiss cheese has holes. Feeling like overstretched dough, Lila is thrown a proverbial life raft after earning an unexpected spot on a popular baking show— all thanks to her best friend. With a chance of winning a quarter of a million dollar grand prize and armed with her grandmother’s blue ribbon-winning apple pie recipe, Lila is determined to win it all, even if her sexy, distracting rival makes things hotter than the inside of a convection oven.

Now that we've covered that base, let's give ourselves a high five and move on.
Baking Me Crazy will be out sometime in January 2025. There WILL BE a pre-order starting at the end of December, FYI. The others in the series, Return to Me and It Had To Be You currently do not have release dates, but I will keep you updated once they do!

As always, I want to say thank you to you all and let you know just how much you mean to me! Thank you for supporting me and giving me the ability to do what I love.
Love,
-Becca
